Eligible Applicants

  • International students from selected countries outside the EU/EEA and Switzerland

  • Applicants must be required to pay tuition fees

Not eligible: Students from countries with Sweden’s long-term development cooperation:

Bangladesh, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mali, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia.

Applicants from these countries should apply for the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship instead.

Scholarship Coverage

  • 100% tuition fee waiver for the full duration of the programme

  • Award is maintained as long as the student follows the normal study pace:

    • Minimum 22.5 credits per semester

    • Minimum 45 credits per academic year

Living expenses are not covered

Eligibility Criteria

To be considered, applicants must:

  • Apply for an eligible Master’s programme at Mälardalen University

  • Select Mälardalen University as first choice on Sweden’s national admissions portal

  • Complete the programme application via University Admissions Sweden

  • Pay the application fee on time

The scholarship is awarded to highly qualified students who meet academic and admission requirements.

Application Timeline

  • Master’s programme application deadline: 15 January 2026

  • Scholarship application deadline: 2 February 2026
