About the Scholarship
The University of Glasgow African Excellence Award aims to support high achieving students from across Africa in their journey to become Future World Changers. The scholarship provides an opportunity for students pursuing a Masters level study to further develop their knowledge and skills to positively contribute to their communities.
The University is offering up to 16 scholarships for international students from Africa starting a one-year postgraduate taught Masters programme in any discipline for the academic session 2026/27. This scholarship comes as a full tuition fee waiver.

Eligibility Requirements
- Demonstrate academic excellence and achieve grades equivalent to a UK 1st Class Honours
- Hold an offer of a place for a postgraduate taught one-year Masters programme for the September 2026 intake (offer is not needed to apply but will be required for interview)
- Have International fee status
- Be domiciled in Africa and hold a passport from one of the eligible countries
- Demonstrate a clear career and/or development plan supported by Masters level study

- Must meet UKVI living costs/financial requirement

Important Notes for Nigerian Applicants

Keep in mind that meeting the UKVI financial requirement is essential for international students.
